Restylane® is an injectable filler comprised of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the human body. This clear, synthetic gel can be injected beneath the skin to smooth wrinkles, sculpt the lips and shape facial contours. Restylane® is commonly used to treat glabellar lines between the eyebrows and nasolabial folds running from the base of the nose to the corners of the mouth. Treatment can restore a smoother, more youthful facial appearance.
Dr. Andrew Kleinman is a board-certified plastic surgeon with extensive experience in the use of injectable fillers, including Restylane®. He will work closely with you to develop a treatment plan that can best help you achieve your desired result.
Your Restylane® treatment will take place in the office setting and requires just fifteen to thirty minutes to complete. Anesthesia is not necessary, though a numbing agent, topical anesthetic or local anesthetic may be used if desired. The Restylane® is injected in very small amounts directly into the skin using a very fine needle. Treatment is quick, discomfort is minimal, and results are nearly immediate.
While some swelling or redness may occur at the injection site, there is no real downtime or recovery associated with Restylane® treatment. In fact, patients can receive Restylane® during their lunch break and immediately return to work afterward. The results of Restylane® will vary for each patient but generally last for up to six months.
